immer gerade aus, an interactive installation about self-consciousness and influence

"Immer Gerade Aus" is about the relationship between human beings and there environment and the fact that we are constantly affecting it. The consciousness about the fact that we are changing reality is not always there. The reality will never be the same after our intervention. The world of now is not the world of one minute ago and never will be that world again.

The installation tries to enlarge the consciousness of the participants by letting them change what they see on a large projection but not letting them change it back. Every move a participant makes affects the world around him. Standing still or moving backwards won't bring it back.

"Immer Gerade Aus" is a collaboration between Marcel Brosens. Suus Touw and Jori de Goede. The installation was built with Max/MSP and Jitter.
